Payment Gateway Guinea
Payment Gateway Africa lets merchants and platforms in Guinea collect payments in Guinean francs (GNF) through Orange Money. You connect once, either through a hosted payment page or a direct API. Your backend then receives a status for every transaction.
Orange Money Collections for Guinean Customers
Guinea is a single-method market for Payment Gateway Africa, and that method is Orange Money. A buyer in Guinea pays with Orange Money at your checkout. Your platform records the result in GNF, the local currency.
Guinea runs on the same connection as the rest of our payment gateway in Africa. If you already work with Payment Gateway Africa in other markets, Orange Money in Guinea can be added to your project as an additional supported method.
This page covers the Guinean market only. It refers to the Republic of Guinea (country code GN, currency GNF). It does not refer to any neighbouring country with a similar name.

An Orange Money Order in Guinea, Stage by Stage
- Order created. Your customer picks Orange Money at checkout. Your system sends the order amount in GNF to Payment Gateway Africa, either through the hosted page or through an API call.
- Payment details. The customer provides the details requested at checkout for the Orange Money payment.
- Customer approval. The customer completes the Orange Money step presented during checkout.
- Result returned. Payment Gateway Africa receives the outcome of the payment attempt and records the transaction status.
- Your system updated. A postback or webhook delivers the status to your backend. You can then confirm the order, release the goods or ask the customer to try again.
Status notifications go to you, the merchant. Payment Gateway Africa does not run a separate notification service for buyers, so customer-facing messages remain part of your own checkout and communications. For more on this method, read the Orange Money method overview.
Collections, Payouts and Settlement in GNF
Payment Gateway Africa keeps three money flows apart. Each one has its own purpose and its own records.
Pay-ins: customers pay you in GNF through Orange Money. This is the core flow for Guinea.
Payouts: you send funds to customers or partners, for example refunds, seller earnings or winnings. Payouts are offered where available for the method and project. Confirm your use case with us before you plan around them.
Settlement: we transfer the funds you have collected to you. We dispatch merchant payouts on the settlement day itself (T+0). This refers to when we release the money, not a guarantee of when it reaches your account, because bank posting times vary.
Reporting: transaction records and statuses help your finance and support teams track Guinean activity.
Hosted Payment Page or H2H API for the Guinean Route
Hosted Payment Page: Payment Gateway Africa hosts the payment screen and you redirect the customer to it. This option suits teams that want to launch quickly with little frontend work. The payment step runs in the customer's browser.
H2H (host-to-host) API: your server talks directly to ours, and you keep full control of the checkout design. This option suits platforms with their own engineering team and specific UX needs. Choosing H2H does not make the product white-label. It is a connection method, not a separate offering.
With either option, you receive statuses through postbacks and webhooks. The integration guide for hosted page and API explains the request flow and project setup. Full API reference and credentials are provided after merchant onboarding.
Merchant Review Before Accepting GNF
Every merchant goes through KYB (know your business) review before going live. Expect to provide company registration details, ownership information, a description of your products or services and the website or app where customers will pay.
Guinean regulations and the wallet operator's own rules may also affect which business types can use the route. We cannot confirm in advance that any specific business qualifies. That decision is made during review.
Our AML and KYC requirements explain what we check and why. Legal obligations specific to your company, such as data protection or consumer rules, should be reviewed with your own advisers.
What Goes Into a Quote for Guinea
Payment Gateway Africa does not publish fixed rates. Your quote depends on your business model, your expected volumes, the operations you need and the markets you combine.
Existing merchants can activate additional supported payment methods with no connection surcharge. However many methods you use, your connection price stays the same. For existing clients, a supported method can often be activated within one day.
The pricing approach for Payment Gateway Africa merchants explains how quotes are structured and what to prepare before you request one.
Other West African Routes Alongside Guinea

Orange Money is supported in all three countries. Each country keeps its own currency and its own records.
