Payment Gateway Tunisia

With Payment Gateway Africa, your checkout links to D17 and Flouci, the two Tunisian wallets we support, so customers can pay in dinars from their wallet. Payment status is delivered to your backend, and merchant payouts are dispatched same-day (T+0); bank posting times vary.

Taking Dinar Payments Through Tunisian Wallets

Payment Gateway Africa is an African payment gateway that gives you one connection to these local options. In Tunisia, that connection covers two wallets: D17 and Flouci.

Both D17 and Flouci can be enabled for your project, subject to merchant review and configuration. Customer payments on this route are made in Tunisian dinar (TND).

If you sell across several countries, Tunisia sits on the same account as our other routes. A merchant already live elsewhere can add D17 and Flouci without paying an extra connection fee. To see how these wallets compare with other markets, read our overview of mobile money payments across our markets.

The Tunisian Route in One Table

Currency: Tunisian dinar (TND). Customer payments on the Tunisian route are made in TND.

Wallets available: D17 and Flouci. This is the full list of methods on the Tunisian route today.

D17: a wallet linked to e-Dinar. Its app supports payments to merchants.

Flouci: a Tunisian digital wallet.

How customers pay: the customer selects D17 or Flouci and completes the payment through the selected wallet.

Regulator: the Banque Centrale de Tunisie (BCT) oversees the country's payment environment. Your exact obligations depend on your business model. Treat this as context, not legal advice.

What Happens When a Tunisian Customer Pays

Step 1 — Order created. Your platform sends Payment Gateway Africa the order details: amount in TND, your order reference and the return address for the customer.

Step 2 — Wallet chosen. The customer selects D17 or Flouci, either on the Payment Gateway Africa hosted payment page or in a checkout you build yourself through the API.

Step 3 — Payment in the wallet. The customer completes the payment through the selected wallet, following that wallet's own steps.

Step 4 — Status to your backend. Payment Gateway Africa sends a postback or webhook to your server with the result, so your order record changes without anyone checking by hand.

Step 5 — Customer returns. The customer lands back on your site, where you can show the order outcome based on the status you received.

Postbacks go to you, the merchant. Payment Gateway Africa does not send separate payment notifications to your customers. Messages to customers, such as order confirmation emails, stay under your control.

Operations You Can Run in TND

Pay-ins. You collect payments from customers through D17 and Flouci. This is the core flow for accepting local payments in Tunisia.

Payouts. You send funds to customers where available for the method and project. Your onboarding team will confirm which payout options apply to your setup before you depend on them.

Settlement. Merchant payouts are dispatched same-day (T+0). This is when we initiate the transfer to you, not when the funds appear in your account. Bank posting times vary.

Pay-ins, payouts and settlement are three separate flows. Each has its own records, which keeps reconciliation clear: money in from customers, money out to recipients, and money transferred to you.

Reporting. Transaction records with statuses let your finance team match each Tunisian payment against orders in your own system.

Hosted Page or H2H API for Your Tunisian Checkout

There are two ways to connect, and both reach the same D17 and Flouci route. They are integration choices, not separate products.

Hosted Payment Page. You redirect the customer to an Payment Gateway Africa payment page, where they pick their wallet and complete the payment through it. You do not need to build your own method selection screens.

H2H (host-to-host) API. Your server talks directly to Payment Gateway Africa, and you design the method selection inside your own checkout. Choose this if you need full control over the page layout or already run an orchestration layer.

Status updates reach your backend through postbacks and webhooks. Technical details are in our integration guide for hosted page and API.

Merchant Checks Before Your Tunisian Launch

Each merchant goes through KYB (know your business) review before going live. Expect to share company registration details, information about ownership, a description of what you sell and the website where you will take payments.

Tunisia's payment framework sits under the BCT. Some activities may carry extra local requirements. We assess this during onboarding and may ask follow-up questions about your business model or customer base.

To prepare your documents in advance, review our AML and KYC requirements for merchants. Once checks are complete, you move to a test project and then to live processing.

What Shapes a Tunisian Quote

Your pricing depends on your business profile, expected volumes and the operations you need, such as pay-ins only or pay-ins with payouts. We do not publish fixed rates. You receive a quote after we understand your project.

For existing merchants, the number of methods you enable has no impact on the connection price. Turning on both D17 and Flouci costs the same to connect as turning on just one, and activating an additional supported method carries no connection surcharge. Activation is often completed within one day.

For details on how quotes are structured, see Payment Gateway Africa pricing for pay-ins, payouts and settlement.

Selling Beyond Tunisia on the Same Account

Also available in North and West Africa: if your audience extends past Tunisia, you can add phone-number wallet payments through our Egypt payment route. You can also reach Wave, Orange Money and Moov Money customers via our Mali payment route.

All seven markets on one connection are listed in our directory of supported countries.
